About
I am a Belgian-American artist and designer, trained in architecture in London and working independently since 2013. My practice moves between fine art, illustration and applied art, with every project beginning by hand.
After many years creating artwork largely for celebrations and commissioned projects, moving to Mallorca in 2022 brought colour, nature and a slower rhythm back into my life. It led me back to painting and to a more personal body of work shaped by place, memory, family and the natural world.
Now based in the Belgian countryside with my husband and sons, I create original artworks, limited editions and bespoke pieces for private homes, interiors and celebrations. Each commission is developed in close collaboration and shaped around the people, place and story at its heart.
An Artist-Led Practice
After more than a decade as Potesta Designs, my practice is evolving under my own name, with a renewed focus on original art, limited editions and a more personal, artist-led approach.
Alongside my own body of work, I continue to take on a select number of bespoke commissions and celebrations each year, working closely and personally with every client from the first idea through to the finished piece.
Potesta Designs continues during this transition, with the practice gradually moving under Emérence de Potesta.
Work with the studio
The studio accepts a limited number of private and commercial commissions each year. As every project is developed with a high level of care and personal involvement, availability is limited and the calendar is often filled several months in advance.
